Terms of Service

Last updated 22 August 2026. By using SilentBOX or another Silent Key Technologies app, you agree to these terms.

The part people actually need to know

If you forget your PIN, your files are gone. Not delayed, not recoverable by support, gone. We hold no copy and no key, so there is nothing for us to look up. This is the direct cost of the app not being able to read your data, and we would rather you understood it on day one than on the worst day.

1. What you are agreeing to

These terms are between you and Silent Key Technologies, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. If you do not accept them, do not use the apps.

2. Lawful personal use only

Our apps are for protecting your own privacy. You agree not to use them to store material that is illegal where you are, to conceal criminal activity, or to hold anything you do not have the right to hold.

We cannot see inside your vault, so we cannot police this, and we do not pretend to. The obligation is yours.

3. Your PIN, and what we cannot do

Losing access to your files because you forgot your PIN is not a defect, and it is not covered by any refund or warranty.

4. Your responsibility for your own data

Keep your own backups. SilentBOX can export an encrypted backup file, and where you keep it is your decision. We do not store one.

Uninstalling the app, resetting the vault, wiping the device, or losing the phone will destroy the vault on it. Encrypted data cannot be reconstructed without the key.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Our products offer a free tier and a paid tier, monthly, annual, or as a one-time purchase. Current prices are shown on each product page and again at checkout before you pay, in your own currency.

How you pay depends on where you bought, and the two routes work differently.

5a. Bought inside a mobile app

5b. Bought on this website

Web purchases are processed by a payment provider acting as the merchant of record for the sale, either Lemon Squeezy or Paddle. The provider handling your purchase is named on the checkout page before you pay and again on your receipt, they appear as the seller on your statement, and they collect and remit any sales tax or VAT due in your country.

If a subscription lapses, your files stay yours and stay in your vault. Features that exceed the free tier limits stop being available for adding new content, but nothing already in your vault is deleted or held hostage.

6. What the software promises, and does not

The apps are provided as they are. We work hard on them and we test them, but no software is free of defects and we do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted or error free.

Specifically, encryption protects your files at rest on your device. It does not protect you from someone who knows your PIN, from a device that is already compromised at the operating system level, from screen recording or shoulder surfing, or from being compelled to unlock it. A disguise makes a vault unobvious. It does not make it undetectable by a determined forensic examination.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Silent Key Technologies is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

8. Changes to the apps and these terms

We may change, add or withdraw features. If we ever change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date above and say so in the app.

9. Ending it

You can stop using the apps at any time by deleting them. We may end your access if you breach these terms, though in practice we have no way to reach into a vault and no wish to.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to conflict of law rules.
